Florian Wahl (born June 7, 1984 in Stuttgart ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg from 2011 to 2016 .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 2004 in Böblingen , Wahl completed a degree in political science and English at the University of Tübingen , which he successfully completed with the state examination. In 2007/2008 Wahl worked for the Irish Confederation of Trade Unions, ICTU . From 2008 to 2010 Wahl worked as a parliamentary assistant for the MPs Stephan Braun , Birgit Kipfer and since January 1, 2010 for Tobias Brenner in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg. Since January 1, 2017, Wahl has been the head of the Communication and Politics department at the Baden-Württemberg Dental Association.

Florian Wahl is Protestant.

Politics and volunteering

Florian Wahl has been a member of the SPD since 2002, a member of the Böblingen municipal council since 2004 and was a member of the Böblingen district council from 2009 to 2014 . For many years he was a member of the SPD district committee in Böblingen and was chairman of the state committee of the Jusos Baden-Württemberg until 2011. In the state elections in 2011 , he ran in the state electoral district of Böblingen , received 23.5 percent of the votes and thus won the second mandate . In the state elections in 2016 , he ran again in the constituency of Böblingen, but missed re-entry into parliament with 13.8% of the votes cast.

Wahl held various positions in the Evangelical Youth Office in Böblingen and in the city youth association in Böblingen for several years. From 2011 to 2018 he was chairman of the SPD city association Böblingen. In 2013 he was elected to the regional synod of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg. Since 2018 he has been a member of the state executive committee of the SPD Baden-Württemberg.

Wahl was part of the Young Leaders program of the German-American network Atlantik-Brücke in 2011/12.

Wahl was in a relationship with the former Baden-Württemberg Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Katrin Altpeter from 2012 to spring 2016 .
