history

In the mid-1980s, the first bands ( Death , Morbid Angel , Deicide , Obituary ) began to play Thrash Metal with down-tuned guitars and basses in Florida . The so-called Bay Area Thrash Metal scene ( Slayer , Metallica , Exodus , Testament , Sadus etc.) and the bands Venom , Celtic Frost and Bathory were particularly important for this development .

Soon after, new bands formed, and other groups, such as Cannibal Corpse , moved to Florida. The Florida scene is still the most active today, alongside the Swedish one.
