Fluchloralin is a chemical compound from the group of dinitrotoluidines and dinitroanilines .

Extraction and presentation

Fluchloralin can be obtained by a multi-stage reaction of toluene with chlorine and hydrogen fluoride to p-chlorobenzotrifluoride , then further with nitric acid to 3,5-dinitro-4-chlorobenzotrifluoride and with propylchloroethylamine to the end product.

Synthesis of Fluchloralin

use

Fluchloralin was used as a herbicide . The effect is based on the inhibition of the formation of microtubules . The active ingredient Fluchloralin is not on the list of active ingredients of plant protection products permitted in the EU. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, no pesticides containing fluchloralin are permitted.
