The Cascais airfield , also Tires airfield , in Portuguese Aeródromo Municipal de Cascais or Aeródromo de Tires , is a Portuguese airfield near the city of Cascais in the town of Tires in the municipality of São Domingos de Rana , as well as in the vicinity of the city of Lisbon . It is about 25 minutes by car from the Cascais train station and about 30 minutes by car from Praça do Comércio in the center of Lisbon.
The airfield was home to the Aerocondor and is now the home airport of the Aero VIP .
Passenger traffic
There is currently no regular scheduled air traffic at Cascais airport, although it is close to the city of Lisbon and is relatively easy to reach via the A5 motorway (Cascais-Lisbon). However, there is a terminal at the airport which is designed for 300 passengers per hour. A number of private and sport aircraft use the airfield as an alternate landing site for Lisbon-Portela Airport .
