The Sömmerda-Dermsdorf airfield has an approx. 925 m long grass runway. The airfield is operated by the resident aviation company Flugservice Sömmerda GmbH . Since 2006 the company has been working with the Aero-Beta Flight Training school for commercial pilots . Part of the fleet is stationed in Sömmerda, the other part at Stuttgart Airport. The flight training also takes place in Stuttgart or Sömmerda.

history

The landing site on the southern outskirts of Dermsdorf is a former GSSD military airfield . A collection of historic Russian fighter planes is on display on site.
