The airfield Mulhouse is a special airfield in Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis . It is approved for gliders , motor gliders , microlights and powered aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of up to 5.7 tons.

Incidents

  • On March 5, 1999, a Let Z-37 A stray plane took off . After take-off, the pilot found that the speed did not increase any further. As a result, the aircraft got into an uncontrolled attitude and crashed onto soft farmland . The machine was completely destroyed. The pilot was unharmed.
  • On May 1, 2001 came Glider type SZD-9 Bocian during a single flight under the supervision of a left turn into a dive location. The pilot intercepted the aircraft and began climbing. The plane then tilted forward and hit a field at an angle of about 45 degrees . The trainee pilot was fatally injured.
