Folko Streese

Folko Streese alias RayX (born June 10, 1970 in Hamburg ) is a German graffiti artist, graphic designer , illustrator , comic artist .

Life

Folko Streese was born in Hamburg and was part of the first generation of German graffiti artists of the hip-hop movement there since the mid-1980s . In 1987/88 he worked on the project "Wall free" by Gabriele Franke, Dieter Thiele and the Hamburg cultural authority and legalized some of his works. In the early 1990s he turned to drawing comics. His works were represented in the exhibitions "Ehrlich Billig!" And "Die 4. Dimension" (Hamburg), The City of the Future (Elmshorn and Berlin), as well as "Xenos '94" (Hamburg and Schmalkalden), and were among others in published by the Hamburger Morgenpost.

For many years he worked as an illustrator and concept artist in the video games industry. a. as texture artist for the first part of the " Gothic " game series . As a concept artist, he worked on the film Hansel and Gretel: Hexenjäger 2011/2012.

For a number of years he has been illustrating primarily for children's books and board and card games. Among other things, he is the cover illustrator of the popular " Adventure Games " series by Kosmos.

In the art scene international, Streese was presented internationally in a 7-page interview.

Awards
