The 505.0 hectare large nature reserve with the no. NSG 0127 is located southeast of Bad Bibra in Burgenlandkreis in the conservation area "Unstrut Triasland" at an altitude from 160 to 288 m above sea level. NN. The highest elevation in the area is the Stockmann height at 288.3 m above sea level. NN.
The protection goal is to preserve mesophilic deciduous forest stands and valuable xerothermal lawns with numerous rare and protected plant species.
