The Steinklöbe are a nature reserve in the city of Querfurt in the Saale district as well as the city of Nebra (Unstrut) and the municipality of Kaiserpfalz in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG 0123 is around 83  hectares , of which around 20 hectares are in the Burgenland district. It is completely part of the approximately 2315 hectare FFH area "Ziegelrodaer Buntsandsteinplateau" and largely surrounded by the landscape protection area "Unstrut-Triasland". The area has been under protection since 1994 (date of regulation: September 15, 1994). Responsible lower nature conservation authorities are the districts of Saalekreis and Burgenlandkreis.

The nature reserve is located west of Nebra (Unstrut) and southeast of Roßleben in the Saale-Unstrut-Triasland nature park . It protects a lower slope of the Querfurter Platte that is exposed in south-westerly directions and which in parts slopes steeply to the Unstrut . The nature reserve is characterized by various near-natural forest communities . Sessile oak and beech forests are to be found, which merge into oak and hornbeam forests in the north of the protected area . Heat recipient sites are occupied by Oak Forest, as well as on the upper edge of the slope of the steep slope of wild service -Eichenwald with wood cladding bushes and shrubs seams at the dry lawn connect companies. The forest mantle bushes are formed by snowball dogwood and privet sloe bushes. The perennial fringes are designed as blood cranesbill and deer root fringes with diptame on sites rich in bases and as red cranesbill and forest clover fringes with blue-green bedstraw on sites poor in base . The dry grass communities are designed as Valais fescue awl grass dry grass and fesque fescue pinnate wedge and semi-dry grass. Here settle on locations with less lime and a. Spring adonis , stemless tragacanth , shaggy pointed keel , purple king candle , real feather grass as well as on locations with more calcareous properties , etc. a. Tridenty orchid , pyramidal pointed orchis , common horseshoe clover and noble gamander . The forests in the nature reserve were historically managed as medium-sized forests, but due to the high proportion of hardwood they were converted into high forests in the 20th century .

The nature reserve is the habitat of a species-rich fauna. Various birds of prey and woodpeckers are just as indigenous as red-backed shrike , great gray shrike and goldhammer . The forests are also of great value for small mammal species - especially bats such as pug bats and lesser horseshoe bats as well as shrews . The nature reserve also has a remarkable fauna of grasshoppers , cicadas and ground beetles .

To the north and east there are mainly further forests, to the south and west agricultural areas adjoin the nature reserve. In the valley of the Unstrut in the south of the protected area it borders on the Naumburg – Reinsdorf railway line .
