The Stachelroder Tal and Lohtal is a nature reserve in Querfurt in the Saale district in Saxony-Anhalt .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG 0172 is about 51.5  hectares . It is almost completely surrounded by the "Unstrut-Triasland" conservation area. The area has been under protection since the beginning of 1998 (date of regulation: November 19, 1997). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Saalekreis.

The nature reserve is located northwest of the hamlet Querfurter Weißenschirmbach in nature park Saale-Unstrut Triasland . It places a mosaic of different biotopes in two valley valleys under protection. On the north facing slopes falter mostly forests, as a former farmer forests as high , medium and low forests are formed. Sessile oak-hornbeam forests with some winter linden and common ash dominate the forests in the southern valley. Sessile oak forests are also growing in the northern valley in favor of the heat.

A high proportion of old oaks can be found in the forests. In the shrub layer of the forests z. B. Black elder and common hazel , the herb layer is u. a. Formed by real lungwort , woolly buttercup , golden nettle , St. Christopher's herb and wood sorrel . The south-facing slopes are occupied by orchards , grassland areas , dry and semi- dry lawns, rock corridors and dry bush complexes. The orchards in the southern Kerbtal are bushy. Here are u. a. Rose and privet bushes as well as field elm trees in the upper slope area can be found. The herb layer is here u. a. of fat meadow species such as oat grass and orchardgrass , but also types of limestone grasslands as meadow sage , field wormwood , Eryngium Campestre , Yellow Pincushion Flower , Brachypodium pinnatum and dianthus carthusianorum formed.

The nature reserve offers habitat u. a. for various raptors and woodpeckers and turncoat , backed Shrike , Whitethroat , barred warbler , Dunnock , Nightingale and Wren . The dense woody structures offer various small mammals a suitable habitat.

Several meter high rock breaks can be found in several places , which were caused by the earlier dismantling of projecting red sandstone banks.

Several layer springs can be found in the nature reserve . In the valleys there are spring areas , wet meadows , reed areas, near-natural streams and temporary flood channels. The Siedebach rises in the nature reserve and flows into the Unstrut near Reinsdorf .

The nature reserve is almost completely surrounded by agricultural land . In the southeast it borders on Weißenschirmbach .
