Weißenschirmbach was an independent municipality in the former Merseburg-Querfurt district and was incorporated into the city of Querfurt on January 1, 2004 .
geography
Weißenschirmbach is about 7 km north of Nebra and 12 km southwest of Querfurt . To the north of the municipality is the district of Gölbitz and to the northwest the remote birch sheep farm.
history
According to the previous view, Weißenschirmbach was mentioned in a document (No. 138) in the Hersfeld tithe list around 899 as Scrinbach (Schirmbach) , but this cannot be determined with absolute certainty. The Scrinbechiu mentioned here is probably more (Rothen-) Schirmbach . Nevertheless, the 1100th anniversary of Weißenschirmbach was celebrated in 1999. The founding of the community is attributed to the Slavic Wends who settled north of the Saale at that time.
The further history is inextricably linked with the history of Vitzenburg Castle and its owners. The time of the noble owners ended in 1945 with the land reform.
Weißenschirmbach and its present part of the municipality of Gölbitz belonged to the Wettin , later Electoral Saxon office of Freyburg until 1815 . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna they came to Prussia and were 1,816 county Querfurt in the administrative district of Merseburg of Saxony Province allocated to which they belonged to the 1944th
