Frédéric Cattaneo (born December 3, 1978 in Salé , Morocco ) is a French wheelchair tennis player .

Career

Frédéric Cattaneo began wheelchair tennis at the age of 23 and started in the paraplegic class .

He participated in 2012 in London for the first time in Paralympic Games in part. In singles he reached the quarterfinals, where he was defeated by Maikel Scheffers in two sets. In the doubles competition he won the silver medal with Nicolas Peifer . In the final they lost against Stefan Olsson and Peter Vikström in straight sets.

At the French Open in 2012 , he won his first Grand Slam title in doubles . With partner Shingo Kunieda , he defeated Stefan Olsson and Michaël Jeremiasz in three sets in the final.

In the world rankings, he achieved his best placements with ninth place in singles on May 30, 2011 and fourth place in doubles on April 15, 2013.
