The hamlet of Fröbitz is located southwest of Bad Blankenburg on a flat plateau of 380 m above sea level in the Thuringian Slate Mountains of the Thuringian Forest . Quittelsdorf is to the north opposite . From there, the connection route to the village branches off from federal highway 88 .
history
The hamlet was first mentioned on March 9, 1371. Fröbitz is a former noble village of Slavic origin. The manor stood at the highest point of the village. Until 1918 the place belonged to the sovereignty of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .
