Hill Harper (* 17th May 1966 in Iowa City , Iowa as Francis Harper ) is an American actor .

Life

Harper is the son of psychiatrist Henry Harper and his wife, anesthetist Marilyn Hill. Hence his stage name. In 1993 he starred in the role of Aaron on the American sitcom A Terribly Nice Family . Harper graduated from Brown University and Harvard before turning to acting. His role in the US series "The Handler" earned him a 2004 Golden Satellite Award nomination. He also plays theater and is a member of the Boston Black Falks Theater Company . On the big screen, Harper has appeared in Steel Man (1997), Spike Lee's Game of Life (1998), The American Nephew (1998) and The Skulls (2000), among others. He was also featured in the US series CSI: NY . In 2006 he took on a supporting role in The Breed .

Hill Harper and US President Barack Obama were classmates at Harvard Law School . In January 2008, Harper was part of Yes We Can , a music video that supported Obama in the primary campaigns. Hill Harper is also a member of the Obama for America National Finance Committee .
