Francisco Javier Chavolla Ramos

Francisco Javier Chavolla Ramos (born June 3, 1946 in Autlán de la Grana ) is a Mexican clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Toluca .

Life

Francisco Javier Chavolla Ramos was ordained a priest for the diocese of Tijuana on December 10, 1972 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Matamoros on June 1, 1991 . He was ordained bishop by the Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico , Girolamo Prigione , on July 16 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Adolfo Antonio Suárez Rivera , Archbishop of Monterrey , and Emilio Carlos Berlie Belaunzarán , Bishop of Tijuana .

He was named Bishop of Toluca on December 27, 2003, and was instituted on February 12 of the following year. With the elevation of the diocese of Toluca to an archbishopric on September 28, 2019 by Pope Francis , he was appointed its first archbishop. The inauguration as metropolitan took place on November 18 of the same year.
