Francisco Medina (actor)
Francisco Javier Medina (born January 30, 1977 in Rostock ) is a German - Chilean theater and television actor .
Life
Francisco Medina grew up in East Berlin and Santiago de Chile and came from a theater family: his father Carlos Medina was a long-time director at the Berliner Ensemble and Deutsches Theater Berlin and his mother Teresa Polle is an actress. His parents are political emigrants from the Chilean Pinochet dictatorship. As a child he was on the stage of the Berliner Ensemble and was the protagonist of various films on GDR television. After graduating from high school in 1997, he worked as an actor in England , Italy , Poland and Chile and gained extensive experience in experimental dance and street theater. 2000–2004 he then completed an acting training at the Rostock State University for Music and Theater . Whereupon he played many leading roles from the classic spoken theater by Schiller , Goethe and Shakespeare on German stages, such as at the Rostock Volkstheater , the Münster Municipal Theaters and most recently at the Bad Hersfeld Festival . Since 2005 Medina has been directing herself, including the productions The Little Prince and Antigone at the Münster City Theaters .
In 2003 he received the Max Reinhardt Prize and the Audience Prize at the German-speaking drama school meeting in Graz and in 2005 a prize at the 21st NRW Children's and Youth Theater Meeting in Krefeld. In 2006 his production The Little Prince was selected for the German youth theater meeting in Berlin.
Francisco Medina has already stood in front of the camera for several German film and television productions, such as in: Wolffs Revier , Das Traumschiff , Berlin, Berlin and Die Rosenheim-Cops . Since October 2007, Medina has been playing the role of Maximilian von Altenburg (previously: Maximilian Santiago de Castillo) in the RTL series Everything that counts, with several longer interruptions .
