Francisco Moreno Barrón (born October 3, 1954 in Salamanca , Guanajuato state , Mexico ) is a Mexican clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Tijuana .

Life

Francisco Moreno Barrón received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Morelia on February 25, 1979 . After five years as a parish priest, he became the executive secretary of the local youth pastoral commission.

On 2 February 2002 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Gaguari and auxiliary bishop in Morelia. The Archbishop of Morelia, Alberto Suárez Inda , gave him episcopal ordination on March 20 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico, Archbishop Giuseppe Bertello , and the Bishop of Zamora , Carlos Suárez Cázares . In the Mexican Bishops' Conference from 2003 to 2009 Moreno was President of the Episcopal Commission for Family, Youth and Laity. On March 28, 2008 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Tlaxcala . The inauguration took place on May 28 of the same year.

Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Tijuana on June 16, 2016. The inauguration took place on August 11th of the same year.
