Frank Goyke

Frank Goyke (born November 24, 1961 in Rostock ) is a German writer.

Life

Goyke did his military service in the NVA after graduating from high school . During his time in the army he published his first texts in the literary magazine Temperamente and received the sponsorship award of the 11th Central Poetry Seminar of the FDJ in Schwerin in summer 1981 . From 1983 to 1988 he studied theater studies in Leipzig . There he met his fellow student Oliver Schwarzkopf, whose publishing houses (edition monade, Schwarzkopf & Schwarzkopf ) gave him priority to publish in the 1990s. After completing his studies, Goyke worked in Berlin as editor of the temperaments and lecturer at the Neues Leben publishing house . At the same time he worked as an IM for the Ministry for State Security until 1989 . From 1991 to 1996 he was dramaturge at the Berlin off-theater group manufaktur b , led by Jürgen Bonk (since 1994 as Theater Fürst Oblomov in Novalisstrasse in Mitte ). For the theater he wrote plays such as Crashkids , Kids & Sex & Drug 'n' Roll and Enterprise Green War . He has been working as a freelance writer since 1997. He lives in Berlin.

Since 1992 Goyke has mainly published detective novels, including the series about Chief Inspector Dietrich Kölling, which was set initially in Leipzig and then in Berlin, the crime novels (published under a pseudonym) with the gay Jewish writer and hobby investigator Martin Roth as the main character and a series of historical, in the 14th . to the 16th century for the series Hansekrimis of the publishing house Die Hanse der EVA . Since 2008 Goyke has published several volumes of a crime series in be.bra verlag in which Theodor Fontane acts as a private investigator. He also wrote for the series Ostseekrimi published by Hinstorff from 2011. There, the first volume of a planned series of historical crime novels appeared in 2015, in which the writer Fritz Reuter acts as an investigator. In addition to his thrillers, Goyke also published documentaries, advisory literature and gay erotic in anthologies such as Mein schwules Auge .

For his second Kölling novel Greetings from the Boss , Goyke was nominated for the renowned Glauser crime prize. The sixth volume, Dummer Junge, Toter Junge , received the Raymond Chandler Society's 1996 Marlowe for best German-language detective novel.
