history

In 1798 the owner of the Groß-Kunzendorf estate , Karl von Strachwitz , had part of the hallways of the Hartenhof parceled out and a colony established. It was named after the lawyer Franz Hackenberg, who carried out the graduation measurements. At the beginning of the 19th century there were 17 houses with 32 German-speaking residents in Franzberg .

In 1836 the Franzberg colony consisted of 32 closely spaced houses in which 182 people lived. The main sources of income were the daily wages and the forest grazing of a herd of cattle. The parish, school and administrative center was Groß-Kunzendorf. Franzberg remained subject to the Groß-Kunzendorf estate until the middle of the 19th century .

After the abolition of patrimonial Franzberg formed a district of the community Groß-Kunzendorf in the judicial district Freiwaldau from 1849 . From 1869 the village belonged to the Freiwaldau district. At the end of the 19th century, the Czech place name Francberk was created . The chapel was built in 1892. In 1900 Franzberg had 169 inhabitants. In the 1921 census, 187 people, including 186 Germans , lived in the 32 houses in Franzberg . In 1924 the Czech place name Francberk was changed to Františkov . In 1930 Franzberg had 182 inhabitants, including 180 Germans; the place consisted of 32 houses unchanged. After the Munich Agreement , the village was assigned to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Freiwaldau district until 1945 . After the end of the Second World War, Frantiskov came back to Czechoslovakia; most of the German-speaking residents were expelled in 1945/46 . During the territorial reform of 1960, the Okres Jeseník was abolished and Františkov was incorporated into the Okres Šumperk . In 1976 it was incorporated into Supíkovice , at the same time Františkov lost the status of a district. In 1990 the municipality of Velké Kunětice was re-established. Františkov has been part of the Okres Jeseník since 1996. At the 2001 census, 17 people lived in Františkov's 11 houses.
