Franz Goetz

Franz Götz (born September 16, 1945 in Ingolstadt ) is a German politician. As a member of the SPD , he was a member of the Bavarian state parliament from 1978 to 2003. In 2007 he switched to the free voters .

After graduating from Reuchlin-Gymnasium Ingolstadt , Götz studied engineering in Saarbrücken, Trier and Munich . In 1968 he passed the engineering examination for general civil engineering, and in 1970 that for construction management. He then worked in industry for two years. He completed his studies for the higher teaching post at vocational schools in the subjects of construction and industrial science in 1973/1975 with the two state exams and was a student councilor in Ingolstadt until 1978 , then an advisory industrial scientist. In 1982 he received his doctorate from the Technical University of Munich .

Götz became a member of the SPD in 1970. Since 1978 he has been a member of the Ingolstadt city council. In the state elections in 1978 , 1982 , 1986 , 1990 , 1994 and 1998 , he was unable to assert himself as a direct candidate, but entered the Bavarian state parliament via the SPD district list of Upper Bavaria . There he was a member of the following committees:

  • Culture Committee: October 30, 1978 to October 19, 1982
  • Federal and European Committee: October 20, 1982 to October 21, 1986, May 6, 1988 to October 23, 1990, October 30, 1990 to October 14, 1994 and October 29, 1998 to May 31, 2001
  • Committee on Petitions: October 15, 1985 to December 1, 1985
  • Public Service Committee: October 15, 1985 to October 21, 1986
  • Constitutional, Legal and Local Committees: November 12, 1986 to October 23, 1990 and October 30, 1990 to October 14, 1994
  • Economic, Transport and Borderlands Committee: November 10, 1994 to September 27, 1998
  • Local and Security Committee: May 31, 2001 to October 5, 2003

In April 2008, shortly after the local elections, Götz switched to the Free Voters faction, taking his seat on the city council with him, and left the SPD.

Entrepreneurial and civil society engagement

Götz was the sole managing partner of the GERO Society for the Promotion of Relations in Science and Business between Germany and Romania mbH . He dissolved the company he founded in 2001 in 2010. In 2003 he was co-founder of the aid organization of the Lions Club Ingolstadt "Auf der Schanz" eV and led it until 2009 as its president.

Private

Götz is Catholic, not married and has one child. As an active athlete, he was Bavarian Junior Champion and 3rd German Junior Champion.
