Franz Tibor Hollós

Franz Tibor Hollós (born February 1, 1906 in Szécsény , Austria-Hungary ; † May 25, 1954 in Erlangen ) was a Catholic priest and legal scholar of Hungarian origin . He was a professor at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

Life

Hollós attended humanistic grammar schools in Baja , Erlau , Gran and Waitzen from 1917 to 1925 . From 1925 he studied Catholic theology and law at the religious school in Castro Jászo (Hungary) (or Kaschau ) and (from 1929 at the German University) in Prague. In 1917 (or 1925) he joined the Premonstratensian Choir Order (in Jászóvár near Kosice). In 1930 he took the final exam; in addition, the ordination took place . He became a chaplain at the parishes of the Tepl, Strakov and Iglau monasteries . From 1938 to 1945 he was pastor in the Holletitz / Saaz and Stankowitz / Saaz monasteries . In 1942 he passed the parish qualification test.

From 1943 he began his law studies at the German University in Prague and after the expulsion of 1945/46 at the University of Erlangen , where he in 1946 with a thesis on the legal status of Strahov basic rule at the beginning of the 15th century to Dr. iur. utr. received his doctorate. He also worked as an interpreter and passed the negotiation interpreter and translator exams in Berlin in 1942. In 1947 he became acting professor for constitutional, administrative and international law at the University of Erlangen. In 1947 he completed his habilitation with Hans Liermann with the thesis The Senate of the Roman Pontiff, taking into account his diplomatic activities and - without assessor examination - the private lectureship (teaching assignment) for canon law, international law, general political theory and German legal history. received. At the same time, from 1946, he took a chair at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

In 1948 he became full professor for international law, canon law, international private law, legal philosophy and legal encyclopedia. His academic students included u. a. Konrad Stangl . There he was head of the Institute for Federalism, Supranational Law and Administrative Law of International Transport (later: Institute for International Law and International Relations ) in Würzburg, his successor was Friedrich August Freiherr von der Heydte . From 1948 to 1950 he was also dean of the law faculty.

He was canon / capitular of the Premonstratensian Order of the Tepl, Strakov and Schönau monasteries near St. Goarshausen .

In 1954 he died after an operation.
