Frederik Schmid (* 1989 in Berlin ) is a German actor .

Life

Frederik Schmid grew up in the Wrangelkiez in Berlin's Kreuzberg district . He stood on stage for the first time at the age of seven.

During his school days he continued to play theater regularly and at the age of 15 came as a permanent member of the ensemble to the “documentary theater berlin”, which is playing in the former bunkers at Gesundbrunnen / Berlin. From 2005 to 2010 he appeared there as Leonid Sidko in the piece Dancer Behind Barbed Wire , which portrayed the fate of former Nazi slave laborers . With the ensemble of the “dokumentartheater berlin” Schmid has made guest appearances at festivals in Ukraine and Russia , where the former Nazi slave laborers and the ensemble also met directly, as well as in Latvia , the Czech Republic , Macedonia as well as in France, Spain, the Principality of Monaco and in Canada .

In 2009 Schmid gave a guest performance with the “documentary theater berlin” and the play Vera about the “half-Jewish woman” Vera Friedländer at Ballhaus Naunynstrasse .

After graduating from high school, Frederik Schmid completed his acting studies at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich from 2010 to 2014 . During his studies he appeared in several productions at the Münchner Kammerspiele under the direction of Malte Jelden , Christoph Homberger and Nicola Hümpel .

After graduating from acting, he was engaged directly at the Deutsches Theater in Göttingen , of which he was a permanent member of the ensemble from autumn 2014. His stage roles in Göttingen included the title role in Liliom (2014/15 season), Eisenring in Biedermann und die Brandstifter (2014/15 season), Orest in Hugo von Hofmannsthal's Elektra version (2015/16 season) and Mercutio in Romeo and Julia (season 2015/16). Schmid has been working as a freelance actor since 2017.

Schmid also stood in front of the camera for the cinema and television. His first film work was done in collaboration with the University of Television and Film Munich . In the short film America by Alireza Golafshan, which was shot under the direction of Michael Ballhaus , Frederik Schmid took on the lead role. So far he has had episode roles. a. in the ZDF television series The Specialists - In the Name of Victims (2016) and SOKO Wismar (2017; as a hooligan with multiple convictions Mario Kutter)

In 2017 he stood in front of the camera in the role of Bennie, who acts as a pimp for young people, for the diploma film Bester Mann by Florian Forsch (winner in the category “medium-length feature film” at the film festival Max Ophüls Prize 2018). In March 2018 Schmid was seen in the ZDF television series A strong team in an episode role; he played Lars Haage, the suspect ex-boyfriend of a murdered Berlin psychology student from a small village in Brandenburg . In the 16th season of the ZDF series SOKO Wismar (2019) Schmid had the main episode roles as best man and suspect best friend of a young bride whose husband dies on the wedding night.

Frederik Schmid lives in his hometown Berlin.
