Friends of contemporary art
The non-profit association Friends of Current Art e. V. mediates established and new artistic positions in national and international contemporary art in the national art business. It was founded on March 19, 1998 in Zwickau by today's association chairman Klaus Fischer and is one of the largest art and cultural associations in the new federal states.
As a cultural organizer, the association is not only involved in contemporary art but also in the fields of architecture and literature. The association has been a member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Kunstvereine (ADKV) since it was founded .
The Kunstverein received media attention in 2016 with the documentary Neo Rauch - Companions and Companions .
