Friedenskirche Zaunröden

The Evangelical-Lutheran listed Church of Peace is in Zaunröden , a district of the municipality of Dünwald in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia . The parish Zaunröden belongs to the parish area Rüdigershagen in the parish of Mulhouse the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The small hall church with a three-sided closure and a slate roof tower in the east was built in the 16th century and modified in 1792. In 1899 the interior was renovated. A two-storey altarpiece made of individual parts from the end of the 16th century was also assembled here. It is decorated with columns and pilasters with rich carvings and inlays . The parapet of the pulpit is also filled with marquetry. In the church there is an epitaph for Christoph von Hagen and his wife from the beginning of the 17th century. The kneeling donors are shown in the middle , above is a relief depicting the crucifixion , the resurrection and the ascension , flanked by coats of arms . The organ with eleven registers , divided between a manual and the pedal , was built in 1833 by Christian Gottfried Dittus.
