Friederike Goßmann
Friederike Goßmann , since 1861 married Friederike Prokesch von Osten (born March 23, 1838 in Würzburg , † August 14, 1906 in Gmunden , Austria) was a German-Austrian actress.
Life
Friederike Goßmann was the daughter of the writer and high school professor Johann Bartholomäus Goßmann , with whom she came to Munich in her early youth. Her mother was the opera singer Johanna Constanzia Goßmann , her sister Marie Goßmann was also a theater actress.
After Friederike Goßmann had received her theatrical training through Constanze Dahn , she made her debut in 1853 as Leonie in the women's war (by Eugène Scribe ) in Munich and then went to Königsberg, where, as in Elbing, Danzig and Gumbinnen , she aroused unusual interest.
In 1855 she came to the Thaliatheater in Hamburg, in 1857 to the Hofburgtheater in Vienna. Here she first played the title role in the play Die Grille by Charlotte Birch-Pfeiffer , which she received a typical design and became, as it were, identical to her name.
In Hamburg she once played alongside Pierre Levassor (1808–1870) even the Carlotta in La nuit aux soufflets with the confidence and verve of a born French woman . The indescribable charm that surrounded all of her representations and made the result of her most careful studies always seem like utterances of the moment, was naturalness from both the playful and the touching side.
As a result of her marriage in 1861 to Anton Freiherrn von Prokesch-Osten (1837-1919, the son of Anton Prokesch von Osten , who was hereditary count in 1871 ), she withdrew from the Vienna court stage. From 1862 to 1867 she made guest appearances in charity performances and during the winter months on the larger stages in Germany, including in St. Petersburg and Amsterdam.
Friederike von Prokesch-Osten, b. Afterwards Goßmann lived mostly in Gmunden in her "Villa Prokesch-Osten", which is shown on old postcards from Gmunden. In Gmunden she developed important social and cultural activities with her husband, so in 1891 she founded the Gmunden branch of the "Rothen Kreuze Women's Aid Association for Upper Austria". From their marriage she had a daughter, Johanna, who later married the Austro-Hungarian colonel Viktor Freiherrn von Schleinitz (1865–1957) and had a son with him, Nikolaus Schleinitz-Prokesch (1895–1955), who embarked on a diplomatic career and his descendants continues to this day.
