Friedrich August von Wulffen

Friedrich August von Wulffen (* 1704 ; † July 7, 1757 ) was a Prussian colonel .

Life

Friedrich August came from the noble family of Wulffen . His parents were the heir to Loburg and Padegrim Hans Christoph von Wulffen and Sybille Hedwig von Mengersen .

At first Wulffen did a degree and then joined the Electoral Saxon service. From there it was Frederick II. In the home called back and as captain with patent from October 7, 1736 at the old Prussian Dragoon Regiment. 2 grouped. Here he advanced to major on November 18, 1741 . On August 6, 1742 he was transferred to the Old Prussian Dragoon Regiment No. 6 , where he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on July 15, 1745 and to colonel on July 4, 1749. Another transfer took place on September 10, 1750, this time to the Old Prussian Dragoon Regiment No. 11 . November 27, 1753 to July 7, 1757 Wulffen was then commander , a position which he had probably already occupied in one of the above two regiments and regimental commander of the Corps of Cadets . As such he was counted among the Prussian generals.

Wulffen is said to have been a knight of the order Pour le Mérite from the first two Silesian Wars . He died of breast disease .
