Friedrich Hecht (politician)

Friedrich Hecht (born August 29, 1918 in Holzhausen ; † December 16, 2019 in Neustrelitz ) was a German politician ( SED ). From 1953 to 1954 he was head of the Agriculture Department of the Central Committee of the SED .

Life

Hecht was born the son of a bricklayer and a cook in Holzhausen ( Ostprignitz ). After attending elementary school in Holzhausen and middle school in Kyritz, he worked as a machinist from 1934 to 1938. After training as a lathe operator in Berlin-Anhaltische Maschinenbau AG, Plant III in Dessau until March 1939 , he was in the Reich Labor Service (RAD) in Groitzsch from April to September 1939 . From October 1939 to May 1945 he had to do military service in the Wehrmacht , most recently as a corporal .

After the Second World War he worked in the city administration in Oranienbaum from May to August 1945 and then until February 1949 as head of the branch office of the Köthen social insurance fund in Oranienbaum. He joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) in July 1945 and the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) in 1946. From March 1949 to December 1950 he was managing director of the Raiffeisenverband Köthen, secretary of the VdgB district committee Köthen and department head in the VdgB state committee Saxony-Anhalt . In 1950 he attended the Saxony-Anhalt state party school for five months.

In January 1951 he worked full-time in the party apparatus of the SED. Until July 1952 he was an instructor, sector leader and secretary for agriculture of the SED state leadership in Saxony-Anhalt. After the administrative reform in the GDR he was from August 1952 to April 1953 Secretary for Agriculture of the SED district leadership in Halle . From April 21, 1953 to September 28, 1954, he was head of the Agriculture Department of the Central Committee of the SED (successor to Albert Schäfer ). From September 1954 to June 1958 he studied at the party college of the CPSU in Moscow with a degree in social science . From July 1958 to March 1960 he was the first secretary of the SED district leadership in Graefenhainichen . From April 1960 to February 1962 he was Secretary for Agriculture of the SED district leadership in Dresden (successor to Rudolf Gellenthin ). He was replaced at his own request and replaced by Manfred Scheler . From August 1962 he was initially an employee and from September to December 1962 deputy chairman of the Central Commission for State Control (ZKSK) in the Neubrandenburg district . From January 1963 to August 1983 he was chairman of the Workers and Farmers Inspection (ABI) in the Neubrandenburg district. From 1964 to February 1984 he was a member of the SED district leadership in Neubrandenburg and from 1967 to 1983 as a member of the district assembly . He retired in September 1983. From February 12, 1984 to December 1989, he was a member of the SED's district party control commission in Neubrandenburg.

After the reunification in the GDR , he became a member of the SPD again in 1994. He lived as a veteran in Neustrelitz until his death .
