Friedrich Maurer (politician)

Carl Friedrich Maurer (born February 2, 1781 in Ingweiler , † June 20, 1868 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian civil servant and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Friedrich Maurer was the son of the church administrator and official Johann Ludwig Maurer (1741-1803) and his wife Katharina Elisabethe, née Schäfer. Maurer, who was a Protestant, married Marianne nee Hollenhorst (1792–1814) in Darmstadt in 1813. After the death of his first wife, he married Schenk zu Schweinsberg auf Hermannstein (1792–1833), born in Langen Luise in 1815. In his third marriage, he married Johanna, born in Darmstadt, in 1835 (1796–1867).

In 1796, Maurer became a corporal in the 1st Leibgrenadier Battalion. In 1797 he was promoted to free corporal, in 1803 to lieutenant and 1808 to first lieutenant. In 1813 he became a rent officer in Kelsterbach before he was employed in the same position in Lampertheim in 1821. In the same year he was 3rd councilor at the Chamber of Accounts, where he rose to council 1st class in 1845. In 1852 he was promoted to the secret chief accounting officer and retired in 1856.

From 1835 to 1841 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency constituency Starkenburg 3 / Langen .
