Georg Schenck

Georg Christian Schenck (born July 20, 1785 in Darmstadt , † February 14, 1857 in Walldorf ) was a Hessian wine merchant and liberal politician and member of the 2nd Chamber of the Land estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Georg Schenck was the son of the court president August Schenck (born December 26, 1744 in Braubach; † November 12, 1806 in Darmstadt) and his wife Johanna Margarethe Reinhardine, née Schleiermacher (born September 15, 1747 in Alsfeld, † December 22, 1813 there ). Schenck, who was a Protestant, was a wine merchant and merchant in Kelsterbach and married Friederike Florentine Wilhelmine, née Müller (1797–1882) , on May 21, 1815 in Thalitter .

From 1826 to 1841 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was first elected for the constituency Starkenburg 3 / Langen , then Starkenburg 8 / Wald-Michelbach and finally Upper Hesse 9 / Okarben-Vilbel.
