Rudolf Wünzer (politician)

Rudolf Wünzer (born December 17, 1862 in Weimar , † January 20, 1929 in Darmstadt ) was a German lawyer, politician ( NLP , DVP ) and former member of the state parliament of the People's State of Hesse in the Weimar Republic .

Life

Rudolf Wünzer was the son of the Saxon court actor and later grand-ducal Hessian artistic director Theodor Wünzer (1831-1897) and his wife Klementine nee Pope († 1899). He was of Protestant denomination and married Laura nee Meyer.

Rudolf Wünzer studied law in Heidelberg, Munich, Berlin and Gießen. From 1892 to 1894 he worked as a lawyer in Darmstadt, from 1894 to 1897 as a public prosecutor in Mainz and from 1897 to 1899 in the same position in Darmstadt. From 1899 to 1913 he was chief magistrate in Wald-Michelbach and from 1913 to 1916 in Darmstadt. From 1916 until his retirement in 1928 he was a senior public prosecutor in Darmstadt.

In the 36th electoral term (1914-1918) he was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the estates he represented the constituency of Starkenburg 4 / Wald-Michelbach . In 1918 Georg Bickel followed him to the state parliament. From 1919 to 1924 he was again a member of the state parliament.

On September 16, 1913, he was made an honorary citizen of Wald-Michelbach. Rudolf Wünzer Strasse there is named after him.
