Ludwig Walther

Heinrich Christoph Ludwig Walther (born March 14, 1804 in Jugenheim ; † January 3, 1881 in Rimbach ) was a Hessian judge and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Life

Ludwig Walther was the son of the Hessian captain Christian Friedrich Walther (1743-1819) and his wife Eva, née Schüßler (1765-1843). Walther, who was Protestant, married Katharina nee Weber (1810–1848) in his first marriage and her second marriage to her sister Elisabeth nee Weber (1816–1871).

Walther studied law in Giessen and Heidelberg and became an assessor in Fürth in the Odenwald in 1835. In 1836 he was employed in the same function in Zwingenberg and in 1839 in Fürth. In 1850 he became a district judge in the Fürth district court . In 1879 he was given the title of Privy Councilor of Justice and retired.

From 1856 to 1862 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Starkenburg 10 / Wald-Michelbach . After the March Revolution he was an elected member of the first chamber from 1849 to 1850.
