Franz von Brandis

Franz Josef Michael von Zelion called von Brandis (born August 31, 1792 in Werl , † August 21, 1870 in Darmstadt ) was a German forester and Hessian politician as well as a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

family

Franz von Brandis was the son of the heirloom , court judge and landowner of Bestwig Gereon Michael von Zelion called von Brandis (1728–1797) and his wife Maria Anna nee von Dücker. Franz von Brandis, who was a Catholic, married Naria, born Mindke (* 1813 in Stuttgart ) on December 16, 1828 , the daughter of a court actor and director .

education and profession

Franz von Brandis was a hunting junker and senior forestry professor in Rabenau , from 1819 forester and from 1831 senior forestry advisor at the Oberforstdirektion Darmstadt. In 1833 he was retired.

politics

In the 5th electoral term (1832-1833) he was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the estates he represented the constituency of Upper Hesse 9 / Okarben-Vilbel .
