Friedrich Pfeffer von Salomon , called Fritz (born May 19, 1892 in Charlottenburg , † October 29, 1961 in Straelen ) was a German police president , head of the Gestapo Kassel , SA leader and regional president in Wiesbaden.

Life

Fritz Pfeffer von Salomon, son of a councilor in the Ministry of the Interior, was the younger brother of Franz Pfeffer von Salomon . He completed his school days at a humanistic grammar school and, after finishing his school days, started a career as a professional soldier. From 1912 he served as a lieutenant in Infantry Regiment 10 Münster / Westphalia and took part in the First World War from 1914 to 1918 . During the war, Pfeffer von Salomon suffered war injuries, received several awards and was dismissed as a first lieutenant in the reserve. After the end of the war, he began to study law and political science at the University of Münster in 1919 . He reoriented himself professionally and completed an apprenticeship in fruit and vegetable growing in Geisenheim from 1920 to 1923 . After his apprenticeship he was estate manager of Haus Busch in Hagen and from 1926 a large estate in Austria. Since November 21, 1921 he was married to Katharina Breuer. The couple had at least one daughter, Waltraud Pfeffer von Salomon.

From 1923, Pfeffer von Salomon was politically active in the Völkisch Block with the local group Hagen. At the beginning of March 1928 he joined the NSDAP ( membership number 77,889). He had been a member of the SA since 1929 and at the same time became a full-time SA leader in the Supreme SA leadership (OSAF). From October 1, 1929 to 1931, he was employed in the SA witness department and later headed the personnel department of OSAF. After that he worked with the rank of SA group leader until 1933 as staff leader of the General Inspection SA and SS in Kassel . Salomon rose to the position of Obergruppenführer in the SA in 1938. He was the holder of the Golden Party Badge of the NSDAP .

After the National Socialists came to power , Pfeffer von Salomon officiated as Police President of Kassel from April 1933. In mid-July 1933, he also took over the management of the Kassel state police station. he held these functions until July 1936. His representative in both functions was Adolf Lindenborn, who in fact took over the management of the Kassel Gestapo. Due to the intrigues of the Gauleiter Karl Weinrich , Pfeffer von Salomon was relieved of his police post and then appointed regional president in Wiesbaden . He was born in 1936 z. b. V. leader of the SA group Hessen and in 1938 received the post of special representative of Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring for the construction of the west wall .

After the start of World War II , he led the civil administration in the army high command I . From June 1940 he was employed in the military administrations in Belgium and France and in July 1940 he became district administration chief at the French military commander in Paris . At the beginning of March 1941 he returned to Wiesbaden to his post as district president. In this function he participated in Aryanizations and in the deportations of Jews . Pfeffer von Salomon was dismissed from office by Gauleiter Jakob Sprenger . From March 1943 Pfeffer von Salomon was on hold , followed by Otto Schwebel in July 1943 . From 1943 to 1944 he was deputy leader of the Berg- und Hütten AG club in Berlin.

After the end of the war, pepper was denazified by Salomon and received a pension as a councilor a. D. He co-founded the German party in Hesse and was a member of its district board in Wiesbaden in the 1950s .
