Friedrich Wilhelm von Wuthenau

Friedrich Wilhelm von Wuthenau (* March 2, 1722 in Segeletz , Ruppinscher Kreis ; † February 28, 1801 in Frankfurt an der Oder ) was a Prussian major general and chief of the hussar regiment No. 10 and, since 1780, Lord of Gilgenau in the Osterode district in East Prussia .

Life

His parents were Hans Dietrich von Wuthenau (* June 2, 1690; † 1760), Herr von Segeletz and Lögow, and his wife Hedwig Elisabeth, born von Werder from the Klein-Wusterwitz family.

Military career

Wuthenau came in 1742 as a standard squire in the body cuirassier regiment . On August 13, 1744 he became a cornet and took part in the Battle of Kesselsdorf in the Second Silesian War . On June 4, 1752 he became a lieutenant and in 1755 he received the order Pour le Mérite . During the Seven Years' War he fought in the battles near Prague , Roßbach and Leuthen . He lost his right eye in the battle of Torgau . During that time, he became captain and squadron chief on January 16, 1758 and major on August 21, 1760 .

After the war Wuthenau was on August 25, 1772 Lieutenant Colonel and on January 4, 1775 Colonel . As such, he also took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . On June 14, 1780 he became chief of the "Owstien" hussar regiment. In 1781 he was sent to Poland for advertising . It was not until June 27, 1786 that he was named major general with a patent dated June 24, 1786. On March 23, 1787 he received his resignation with a pension . He died on February 28, 1801 in Frankfurt an der Oder.

family

In 1759 Wuthenau married Freiin Auguste Christiane von Poellnitz (* November 12, 1732; † September 6, 1793), a daughter of Gottlob Heinrich von Pöllnitz, Lord of Neukirchen and Kollau. The marriage remained without children.
