Friends Provident Trophy 2008
The Friends Provident Trophy 2008 was the 47th edition of the National List-A cricket - competition over 50 Over in England . The competition was held between April 20 and August 16, 2008 by the 18 English first-class counties as well as Scotland and Ireland . The winners were the Essex Eagles .
format
The 20 teams were divided into four groups of 5 teams each. In these, each team played twice against each other. There are two points for a win, one for a draw or no result and no point for a loss. The first and second group qualified for the quarter-finals, where the tournament winner was then determined in play-off mode.
