Fritz Krückeberg

Fritz Krückeberg (born April 19, 1928 in Dassel ; † June 5, 2012 in Bonn ) was a German mathematician and computer scientist.

Life

Krückeberg studied mathematics and physics at the University of Göttingen and was a research assistant at the Institute for Instrumental Mathematics. In 1961 he was working for the numerical integration and error detection at initial value problems of ordinary differential equations at Heinz Unger for nat rer Dr. PhD. After completing his habilitation at the University of Bonn, he became head of the University Computer Center in Bonn. From 1967 he taught the subject "Instrumental Mathematics" in Bonn as a private lecturer.

Fritz Krückeberg taught applied mathematics at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn from 1969 until his retirement in 1993 and was scientific-technical director and chairman of the Bonn Society for Mathematics and Data Processing (GMD) , a major research institution for applied mathematics and computer science , until May 1981 .

Krückeberg was treasurer from 1982 to 1985 and from 1986 to 1989 president of the Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI) , the largest IT specialist agency in German-speaking countries.
