Fritz Wahr Energie GmbH & Co. KG is an owner-managed energy trading company based in Nagold and is run in the second generation by Bernd and Wolfgang Wahr, the sons of the company's founder, Fritz Wahr. history

The company was founded in 1964 by Fritz Wahr as a transport and trading company for building materials . From 1967 he was also active in the mineral oil industry. In 1981 the ideal space was found in the then young industrial area of Wolfsberg in Nagold for the construction of our own mineral oil storage facility, a vehicle hall and an administration building . The two sons Reinhold and Bernd joined the company in 1985 and, together with great industry expertise, developed additional growth. From 1989 the regional end customer business and also the wholesale business was further expanded. Further regions were opened up. True took over the heating oil and coal trade Henn in Hechingen .

The MTB filling station network was founded in 1990 as a network that supports and accompanies independent filling stations in competition. From 1995, Wahr also opened its own MTB filling stations. The generation change began in 2003 with the entry of the third son Wolfgang Wahr. After the 40th anniversary in 2004, the company headquarters was expanded. A truck hall with a washing facility and a wood pellet show heater were inaugurated in 2005. In 2006 the first company-owned wood pellet delivery vehicle added to the fleet . Two sales offices in Stuttgart and Tübingen were taken over in 2008 under the name BWW Energie GmbH. In 2011 a sales office was opened in Saarbrücken.

In 2012 the founder Fritz Wahr handed over the company to his sons Bernd and Wolfgang Wahr. The company was founded by Fritz Wahr eK . in Fritz True Energy GmbH and Co.KG renamed. In 2015, the company is celebrating its 50th anniversary as a double anniversary and the 80th birthday of the company's founder Fritz Wahr. As an energy supplier , Wahr will also be offering natural gas and electricity from 2017 . Own storage capacities in Speyer and Plochingen are added. Since 2018, Fritz Wahr Energie GmbH and Co.KG has been one of the first climate-neutral companies in the industry to offer climate-neutral heating oil for sale.

Gas stations

MTB (" medium-sized petrol station operations ") is a brand of Fritz Wahr Energie GmbH. The aim is to support small, medium-sized and family-run petrol stations in competition and to offer customers good quality at attractive prices. The MTB network now has over 40 filling stations in south-west Germany. Owner-managed and often equipped with a shop and a car wash, MTB filling stations offer special service, high quality and a very good price.

Monument protection award for MTB gas station

The MTB petrol station in Tettnang was the first petrol station ever to be awarded the Baden-Württemberg Monument Protection Prize by the Swabian Heimatbund and the Badische Heimat association .

The station, built in 1950, was acquired by Fritz Wahr Energie GmbH in 2005 and, in coordination with the monument protection authorities in Tübingen and taking into account photos from 1951, was fundamentally renovated and repaired both inside and out at the beginning of 2016 .

Climate neutral company

Fritz Wahr Energie is one of the first companies in the industry to voluntarily offset its emissions in accordance with the Kyoto Protocol and to offer its customers premium heating oil that is climate-neutral. The energy supplier sees climate protection goals as an important challenge for individuals and companies and has therefore had the CO2 footprint determined by the independent Fokus GmbH at the locations in Nagold , Öhringen and Stuttgart and made it climate-neutral for 2018.

As stipulated in the Kyoto Protocol, projects aimed at reducing CO 2 should be promoted and supported in particular where they are most effective. In accordance with these requirements, Wahr supports specific projects in Honduras and Chile that have developed efficient measures for climate protection or are working on their development.

With the support of these projects , Wahr has made the emissions of the two companies Wahr Energie and BWW Energie and the product premium heating oil climate-neutral for 2018. The climate neutralization occurs through the purchase of climate protection certificates, which are awarded by Fokus GmbH and in turn, in the form of financial support, goes to the projects eligible for funding. For True, that was a total of 102,000 climate protection certificates in 2018.
