style

Karl Schumann of the Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote in 1957 about the interpretations of Herbert Spitzenberger : “ A piano musician without a pose. The pianistic ability merges in the purposelessness of a natural musicality. He has the talent to make the piano sing. The Singapore Free Press also described the brilliance of his playing after a piano recital with works by Johannes Brahms , Béla Bartók , Maurice Ravel and Mili Alexejewitsch Balakirew on November 28, 1961. The Times wrote in 1962: “ A recital discinctly out of the common. His playing had continual vigor together with a propulsive rhythm ( Frank Martin : eight preludes). Mr. Spitzenberger's mastery of the music, not to mention his enterprise in presenting it, deserves high praise. “Herbert Spitzenberger was very committed to the work of Harald Genzmer and performed his pieces internationally.
