Soccer Asian Cup 1984 / Qualification

The qualification for the 1984 Asian Cup in Singapore took place between August and October 1984. 28 teams should play in 4 qualification groups of seven teams each. However, eight associations withdrew their reports before the start of qualification. Malaysia was then delegated to Group 3, and Group 4 was subsequently expanded to include Afghanistan. The group winners and runners-up qualified for the final tournament. Hosts Singapore and defending champions Kuwait were set for the finals.
