Soccer Asian Cup 1996 / Qualification

The qualification for the 1996 Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates took place between January and August 1996. After the withdrawal of 2 teams, 33 teams remained and played in 10 qualifying groups. The group winners qualified for the final tournament. The hosts UA Emirates and defending champions Japan qualified directly for the finals.
