The Fuschler Ache , in the lower reaches of the Griesler Ache , is a low mountain range river in the Salzkammergut . It drains the Fuschlsee via Thalgau and St. Lorenz into the Mondsee and is its most important tributary.

The Ache rises from the Fuschlsee in a protected moorland area as part of the landscape and a water protection area, close to Fuschl Castle . It initially flows westwards, and then soon turns northwards, becoming a fast-flowing to raging wild water river below Hof near Salzburg in the Vorderelsenwang corridor , and flowing through a forest gorge. This valley closes off the high altitude Thalgauegg to the west. Here the L117  Enzersberg Landesstraße ("Russenstraße") runs along the stream.

In Oberndorf the Fuschlerache enters the Talung of Thalgau one, from where it is a quietly flowing, serviced by numerous Mühlwehre body of water that goes east. Before the place Thalgau it takes the Plainfelder Bach von Plainfeld , and after the place the Fischbach von Kolomannsberg , and from here it is called Griesler Ache . On its last kilometers, the old Mühlgraben along the old Ischlerbahn route absorbs a large part of the water. This flows into the Mondsee near Achdorf (south of the Mondsee golf course) , while the Altlauf flows through the village of St. Lorenz at the foot of the Drachenwand and flows into the Gries district (camping site).

Although the Mondsee is only about 6 kilometers as the crow flies from Fuschlsee, the length of the Fuschler Ache with its wide arc is around 22 kilometers. You can explore almost the entire run along a hiking trail. The water quality class of the Ache is in the upper reaches I-II, in the lower reaches II.
