Gökcan Kaya (born August 7, 1995 ) is a Danish football player of Turkish descent on the position of midfielder .

Career

society

Born on August 7, 1995, Gökcan Kaya of Turkish origin spent a large part of his youth career at Randers FC from the port city of Randers in East Jutland . As a 16-year-old, he signed a three-year youth contract in May 2012, which gave him the right to play in professional football. At this point in time he acted primarily as a key figure in the club's own U-17 team, but also came to his assignments in the U-19 squad, which he mainly belonged to in the following years. He has also been in the professional reserve squad one time or another. At that time he was in the tenth grade of Randers Realskole and began a three-year training course at Randers ElitesportsCollege in summer 2012 . Through the youth coordinator Peter Elstrup , who briefly also managed the fortunes of the professional team, he was gradually introduced to the first division team and was on the bench for the first time in the professional league in the 2013/14 season . For the first time he sat on the bench in the second leg of the third qualifying round for the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League on August 8, 2013. By the end of the season in the Superliga, which Randers finished in seventh place, Kaya was unused in six league games on the bench. In the following 2014/15 season , the midfielder was mostly only used in the club's own youth team and only sat on the bench unused once in the season opener against Esbjerg fB . In the second round of the Danish Football Cup 2014/15 , Gökcan Kaya made his competitive debut for Randers FC on September 23, 2014.

In the 7-1 victory over the lower-class Kolding Boldklub , he came on the lawn for Mads Fenger in the 62nd minute of the game and sat on the bench again without a stake in the following two cup games. Randers made it to the quarter-finals, in which Kaya was no longer in the squad, where it was only eliminated on penalties against eventual cup winners FC Copenhagen . With the professional team, he ranked fourth in the final standings of the Danish Superliga behind Brøndby IF (third), FC Copenhagen (second) and FC Midtjylland (first), thus qualifying for the first qualifying round of the 2015/16 UEFA Europa League . In this, the team defeated the UE Sant Julià from Andorra , but was eliminated in the following round against IF Elfsborg from Sweden . During this time, Gokcan Kaya, whose three-year contract had now expired, moved to league rivals Hobro IK . He signed a one-year contract and was described by the sports director Jens Hammer Sørensen as a "technically adept player with great development potential". In the league events of the Danish Superliga 2015/16 Gökcan Kaya was used for the first time from the start and made his first division debut under Jonas Dal when he played from the start in the 3-0 defeat against Odense BK and from the 71st minute by Kasper Povlsen was replaced. After Jonas Dal was released from his job after only one win and two draws after twelve league games, he also came to his league appearances under interim coach Lars Justesen . By this time, Gökcan Kaya had developed into a regular player in the relegation-threatened team; this changed after Ove Pedersen took over the coaching position towards the end of November 2015. Under Pedersen, he was rarely used and was then only active as a substitute player. Under the experienced Ove Petersen, not a single victory has been achieved in ten league games so far (as of April 28, 2016); Hobro IK ranks behind in the last place in the table.

In the summer of 2016 he moved to the Turkish second division side Manisaspor and half a season later to the Istanbul third division side Tuzlaspor .

National team

Gökcan Kaya gained his first experience in a youth national team in his home country in 2013, when he was used for the first time in the Danish U-18 team . He made his debut on April 25, 2013 in a friendly against his colleagues from Serbia , when he played from the start and was replaced by Mark Kongstedt from the 65th minute . This was also his only international appearance for Denmark's U-18s. A year later it was used for the first time for the Danish U-19 juniors at the tournament in La Manga . He played in all three of his team's games in February 2014 before playing for the Danish U-20 national team for the first time a year later . The friendly against Sweden on October 12, 2015 ended in a 1-0 win for the Danes, with Gökcan Kaya acting from the start and replacing Mathias Jensen from the 63rd minute .
