Günter Burkhardt (game designer)

Günter Burkhardt (* 1961 ) is a German teacher and game designer .

Before he dedicated himself exclusively to the development of games, Burkhardt was a teacher for social studies, geography and mathematics at the Schubart secondary school in Geislingen . In 1997 he published his first games ( Manitou at Goldsieber , Long Live the King and Büro Crazy at FX Schmid ), with Manitou being on the selection list for Game of the Year . He has now published over 40 games with 19 different publishers.

Burkhardt lives with his wife and two children in Gosbach ( Bad Ditzenbach ). Together with his then seven-year-old son Benjamin he developed the children's game Rumpelritter, which appeared in 2007. Benjamin Burkhardt has since been the youngest of all HABA game inventors. Ten years later, he and his daughter Lena published the placement game The Gardens of Versailles and the game Sparkle Treasure in 2017 . This was named Children's Game of 2018 in 2018.
