Günter Frecksmeier

Günter Frecksmeier (born November 25, 1937 in Bielefeld ) is a German artist, painter, draftsman and graphic artist.

Life

Günter Frecksmeier was born in Bielefeld in 1937. From 1952 to 1955 he completed an apprenticeship as a decorative painter and was accepted into the Federal Association of Visual Artists in 1962 . He then studied in 1963 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under the main representative of informal art, Karl Otto Götz . In 1968 he founded his own studio in Bielefeld. In 1990 he received a scholarship from the Wangerland community in the Künstlerhaus Hooksiel . In 2003 he moved to Wüsten near Bad Salzuflen . From 2006 to 2016 he lived and worked in Herford , moved to Minden in 2016 and to Bielefeld in 2017/18.

Günter Frecksmeier has been exhibiting his works in solo and group exhibitions in Westphalia for over 40 years. His pictures of the Bible were exhibited in four picture cycles at Art and Culture in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover . Other works of art have also been exhibited in Cologne, Berlin, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
