Günter Olzog

Günter Olzog (born February 15, 1919 in Dortmund ; † May 14, 2007 in Munich ) was a German lawyer and publisher .

Life

He grew up in Recklinghausen and attended the secondary school in Herne. After Reich labor and military service (last rank: First Lieutenant dR), he studied law and economics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich after the war . In 1945 he began to work as an assistant in the university department of the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture . From 1948 to 1950 he was assistant to the international lawyer Erich Kaufmann . He passed both state law exams and was awarded a Dr. jur. ( magna cum laude ) doctorate.

On December 10, 1949 he founded his Isar Verlag Dr. Günter Olzog (today Olzog Verlag ). Until 1998 he was a partner and sole managing director there. From 1968 to 1985 he was also managing director of the TR publishing union .

Olzog was committed to university politics. From 1950 he was in-house counsel at the University of Political Sciences in Munich and later a lecturer, member of the Senate and Vice-Rector. From 1955 to 1957 he was a member of the personnel appraisal committee for the armed forces of the German Bundestag . From 1962 to 1970 he was a member of the Assembly of Representatives of the Börsenverein für den Deutschen Buchhandel. In 1966 he took over the chairmanship of the Bavarian State Association of the Börsenverein . From 1974 to 1993 he was on the advisory board of the Academy for Political Education in Tutzing. From 1976 to 1985 he was a commercial judge at the regional court Munich I . He was also a member of the administrative board of the Evangelical Press Association for Bavaria. In 1981 he became chairman of the Association of Friends of the Bavarian State Theater .

Olzog was married and had three children. He is buried in the north cemetery in Munich .
