Günter Seuren

Günter Seuren (born June 18, 1932 in Wickrath , Niederrhein , † December 10, 2003 in Munich ) was a German writer .

Life

Günter Seuren attended the Hugo-Junkers-Gymnasium in Rheydt , where he graduated from high school in 1953 . He then worked for the Illustrierte Neue Post in Düsseldorf , for which he wrote smaller texts. Since 1955 he has been a freelance writer and film critic for the Deutsche Zeitung . In the sixties he was close to the “ Cologne School ” of the new realism initiated by Dieter Wellershoff and wrote numerous radio plays and screenplays for television plays in addition to his narrative works . From 1986 onwards, a series of scripts for documentaries were produced on behalf of ARD and ZDF ; the shooting led him u. a. to Canada , Mexico , Ecuador and Peru .

Seuren lived in Switzerland since 1967 and in Munich from 1987. He received the following awards: 1963 the promotion award of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for literature , 1966 the screenplay award of the “ Berlinale ” for the film adaptation of his novel Das Gatter under the title Schonzeit für Füchse , 1967 the Georg Mackensen literary award .
