Günter Wolfram

Günter Wolfram (born January 12, 1930 in Halle (Saale) ; † April 25, 2004 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Wolfram completed a degree in economics at the universities in Halle and Leipzig , which he graduated with a degree in economics. From 1953 to 1965 he worked at Erzbergbau Siegerland AG , most recently as an assistant director for social affairs. From 1964 to 1973 he was managing director of an engineering office in Hachenburg .

Wolfram joined the SPD in 1955 and was initially involved in local politics. He had been a city councilor in Betzdorf since 1958 and a member of the district council in the Altenkirchen district since 1960 . From 1973 to 1994 he was mayor of the Daaden community and from 1974 to 1999 mayor of the Daaden community . The redevelopment of the Daaden town center fell during his term of office.

In the state elections in 1963 , 1967 and 1971 , Wolfram was elected as a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament, to which he was a member until 1975. In parliament he represented the constituency 1 of the state parliament . As chairman of the Committee on Administrative Reform , he played a key role in the regional reform . In the 1965 Bundestag election , he ran for the German Bundestag on the SPD Rhineland-Palatinate state list , but did not win a seat.

Günter Wolfram was married and had two children.

Honors

Wolfram was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Ring of Honor of the Altenkirchen district. The Günter tungsten place in Daaden was named after him.
