Günther Cuntz (born November 12, 1944 ) is a former German soccer player and later soccer coach . In the 1967/68 season, Cuntz played a game in the Bundesliga as a player for Karlsruher SC .

career

Günther Cuntz belonged to the successful amateur team of the Karlsruher SC in the 1st Amateur League North Baden until 1966/67 . In the season 1964/65 the KSC-Amateurs won the championship , in 1965/66 they were fourth and 1966/67 runner-up . Also in the games for the German amateur championship against Holstein Kiel (6: 3, 3: 3) and SpVgg Neu-Isenburg (4: 5, 2: 2), the young players of coach Bernhard Termath - teammates of Günther Cuntz like Rolf Ackermann , Werner Hösl , Herbert Layh , David Scheu , Heinz Schneider , Heinz Schrodt - their talent and got a licensed player contract for the team from the Wildparkstadion for the 1967/68 season . In addition to its own amateurs, the KSC also carried out the commitments of Gérard Hausser , Jürgen Rynio , Klaus Slatina , Lutz Streitenbürger and the return campaign of Günter Herrmann before the fifth Bundesliga season . It was a thoroughly negative round for the KSC and the previous amateurs. Three coaches tried in vain to keep the class with the blue-whites: Paul Frantz , Georg Gawliczek and ex-national player Berni Termath. In his later career, the teacher , who lives in Durlach, worked as an amateur trainer, among others, at VfB Gaggenau, ASV Durlach (1984/85 to 1990/91; 1997/98 to 1999/00) and 1. FC Pforzheim . With the ASV he won the championships in the district league and state league and also the district cup. In the Brötzinger Tal he looked after 1. FC in the mid-90s in the football league Baden-Württemberg . In December 2005 he became a coach at the upper division FC Nöttingen . He held this post until the end of the 2005/06 season.

Others

Günther Cuntz is the son of the former Gauliga player from Phönix Karlsruhe , Otto Cuntz , and father of the former soccer player Matthias Cuntz . After his career, Günther Cuntz worked as a teacher at the Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium Mühlacker and at the Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium Karlsruhe .
