The congress center was designed and built by the Mexican architect Fernando Romero in just seven months.

Agenda

Mexico believed that the G20 should focus more on reducing development disparities between countries and outlined ways in which the forum could better represent developing countries in both vision and policy. Under the leadership of President Felipe Calderón , Mexico wanted to try to expand the G20's development policy focus. Regarding the financing of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Calderón said that "it will be the first time the fund will be capitalized without the US, reflecting the importance of emerging economies". Brazilian Finance Minister Guido Mantega added that the BRICS countries will "make an additional contribution to the IMF, which will be announced at the meeting of heads of state or government," bringing it to an amount of approximately 75 billion US dollars That the group announced in April. European heads of state and government were put under pressure by major economies to resolve the euro crisis after the New Democracy Party won the Greek parliamentary elections in 2012
