The SSC Dodesheide (officially: Spiel- und Sportclub Dodesheide eV ) is a sports club from Osnabrück . The men's volleyball team played in the Bundesliga for a year .
history
The association was founded in 1962. Although the association bears the name of the Osnabrück district of Dodesheide , it is based in the neighboring district of Sonnenhügel . In addition to volleyball, the SSC also offers fitness and health, a children's sports club, soccer , handball , badminton , table tennis , swimming , tennis , karate and kali .

In 1995 the SSC Dodesheide took over the volleyball department of GSV Osnabrück, whose men played in the Bundesliga in the 1989/90 and 1994/95 seasons . Both times the team of the high school sports club had to be relegated immediately as the bottom of the table. Under the umbrella of SSC Dodesheide, the team became champions of the 2nd Bundesliga North in the 1996/97 season with two points ahead of USC Münster and was promoted to the Bundesliga. As the penultimate of the 1997/98 season , the direct relegation followed. The club decided not to participate in the 2nd Bundesliga for unknown reasons. In 2011, SSC Dodesheide and the Osnabrücker Turnerbund founded the VC Osnabrück gambling community . In the 2019/20 season, both the first men's and the first women's team will compete in the fourth-class Northwest Regionalliga.

The footballers made it to the Osnabrück district class in 1974 and were able to hold this division until 1978. It took until 1987 for the SSC to return to the district class as runner-up behind the Osnabrück SV 16 . In 1992 and 1994, the Dodesheider team came fourth, before the club voluntarily relegated to the 1st district class in Osnabrück in 1995, despite athletic qualifications. In 2004 she made her third promotion to the district class, which was followed by direct relegation. In 2009 the SSC was again district champion, which meant promotion to the district league due to the league reform in 2006. In the following season 2009/10 succeeded the march into the Landesliga Weser-Ems , where the Dodesheider, however, as bottom of the table of the 2012/13 season had to relegate directly. In 2014, the direct return to the national league succeeded, but the SSC had to relegate again a year later. In 2017 the team was runner-up behind Viktoria Georgsmarienhütte .

The swimming department and the swimmers of the Osnabrücker SC form the starting community (SG) Osnabrück . The Nettebad is the training and competition venue .
